The work of the studio was begun by Danilo Cervietti, father of Franco (present director and owner) , Moreno (associate owner) and Sergio (employed by the studio and also a free–lance sculptor). Danilo begun his own apprenticeship very young, while still a pupil at the elementary school he spent regularly time in the artisans workshops, which was the custom of that time. For about 40 years he worked in the most prestigious marble studios, acquiring such a mastery of the craft that he was able, in 1962, to open his own studio. He was immediately joined by his son Franco, then 20 years old, and by a group of master carvers with whom he had previously collaborated, among them Francino Boggi, Francesco Benedetti and Marino Canali.
In time the two Franco’s sons : Hayato and Hideki also entered the business.
